Concepts of Change has a team of experienced and qualified professionals who are passionate about facilitating behaviour change by helping people to help themselves and all other aspects of their work.

Led by Liz Ampt, the team’s core competencies include design, development, delivery and measurement of voluntary behaviour change initiatives; project management; interpersonal skills and persuasive communication; leadership, facilitation and training; organising educational programs, survey design and quality control.

Liz is an innovator in using voluntary behaviour change thinking and practices to change individuals, organisations and communities. She is experienced and sought after to teach and enthuse others how to run their own programs.

Liz has published numerous books, book chapters and monographs, journal articles, refereed conference papers, invited papers and research reports.

Sophie WallisASSOCIATE FROM UPTHINK

Role

  • Applying sustainability frameworks (including the IS Rating scheme) to achieve positive outcomes for planning projects in resources and infrastructure
  • Providing a strong interface between the technical, social, environmental and delivery aspects of projects
  • Leadership capability and experience, aligned with wider team objectives
  • Knowledge and understanding of organisational drivers and a focus on outcomes
  • Workshop design and facilitation to build team culture of innovation and trends analysis

Knowledge & Skills

A strategy and sustainability consultant with 20 years’ experience in Australia and the UK, Sophie has been involved with many successful behaviour change programs since 2001. Sophie coordinated cross-agency policy relating to Perth’s TravelSmart suite of programs and similar programs in London. She has project managed 3 large and effective voluntary behaviour change projects for the Water Corporation since 2010. Sophie has recently assisted the Department of Transport in developing a baseline data set for measurement of Travel Demand Management programs.

Sophie has a track record of success in managing diverse project teams (often based in multiple locations), maintaining quality and ensuring clients are informed of progress. Her well-considered, collaborative approach facilitates outcomes that enhance project value and resilience.

Mark has an in-depth understanding of the processes and practices required to deliver successful voluntary behaviour change programs – where the philosophy is truly to ‘help people to help themselves’.

Mark has provided leadership in program design and skilled conversationalists for 10+ behaviour change with Concepts of Change’s Director, Liz Ampt over the past 10 years in the fields of travel, water, waste and energy in WA, Queensland, ACT, Victoria and South Australia.

Wesley JunkeerASSOCIATE FROM IPSOS

Knowledge & Skills

Wes has managed teams of conversationalists and coaches for 6 behaviour change programs, including 3 in Western Australia for the Water Corporation. His preparation for programs almost always involves visiting the area and preparing videos and extensive photos of all aspects of life in the target region to relay to his conversationalist team in training sessions and throughout the program. Training sessions for each program are at least 4-5 full days with ongoing mentoring.

Other Concepts of Change’s Associates

Concept of Change has a team of associates. These include Colin Ashton-Graham – Behavioural Economist – who has contributed to design and evaluation of behaviour change programs, Jodi Reilly who adds skills in marketing and implementation of community voluntary behaviour change programs and the Symbolix team of Stuart Muir and Elizabeth Stark who contribute to sample selection and data analysis.
